Get to know a little more about Collette, The Senior UK Project Manager at BEAM.

EXPERIENCES & SPECIALITIES  

Qual projects are my area of expertise. I’ve worked with an enormous range of clients, from 1-man bands to multinationals and everyone in between. Each new project can be completely different from the previous focus, but I generally work on B2B, consumer and finance projects.  

Before I came to the market research world I worked as an account manager in the hospitality world, and it provided me with a whole host of skills that I find incredibly useful in my current role. I’m highly experienced at managing lots of different accounts and projects at any given time and I pride myself on being able to foster positive working relationships with a wide spectrum of people.  

WHAT I BRING TO THE TABLE  

I like to think that I am level-headed and can keep things on an even keel even under stressful circumstances, but I’d say my biggest strength is my experience with people and managing my team. Knowing my team really well and where their strengths lie allows me to support and grow their individual skill sets and natural abilities. I think a team is more efficient, effective and happier when they are optimising their strengths. 

WHAT I’M PASSIONATE ABOUT  

Reputation is everything to me. I want to show clients how good BEAM is, how strong my team is and how we can deliver exceptional fieldwork. I want to make our clients look good to their clients, and that means delivering our best with every single project. I relish a challenge and will find ways in which we can meet the clients needs and deliver a brief effectively – I like to think I hold myself and my team to high standards. 

WHAT I LOVE TO WORK ON  

I really enjoy consumer projects as you can often (if you are patient) see the tangible results of the work that we contributed to. Be it an advert or a billboard, seeing that a marketing team has used something that came from research we supported is always very satisfying.   

I also get a lot from projects with vulnerable audiences. It emphasises that our work is not just a tick box exercise. I like the ability to make a connection, see what makes people tick and understand human behaviours.
