BEAM Supports Mentell May 'Thunder Ball' Charity Fundraiser

BEAM was proud to support and help organise the third Mentell May Charity Ball, which took place on Saturday 16th May 2026, and brought together supporters for an evening of fundraising, awareness and celebration in aid of men’s mental health.

This year’s event embraced a James Bond-inspired Thunderball theme, combining elegance and entertainment with an important purpose. Guests enjoyed casino tables and croupiers, a blue carpet walk and a 360 glambot camera, creating a memorable atmosphere while raising support for the vital work Mentell carries out every day.

BEAM played an active role in the event. Directors Amy and Kay Middleton were both involved in the organisation committee, helping shape and deliver the evening, while Director Alec Middleton hosted the event.

Supporting a charity that reflects BEAM’s values

Mentell has been BEAM’s chosen charity since 2023 and remains a cause that is closely connected to our Corporate Social Responsibility commitments.

Mentell provides safe, confidential spaces for men aged 18+ to talk openly, free from advice and judgment. Its work supports men across the UK who may be facing personal challenges, poor mental health or emotional struggle, while also helping families and wider support networks feel less alone.

BEAM’s CSR policy, outlines our support for Mentell reflects our wider commitment to “Making people BEAM from ear to ear” — using our business as a force for good and supporting causes that create meaningful impact in people’s lives.

The partnership also aligns strongly with BEAM’s core values, including being supportive, trustworthy and effective, and our belief that businesses should contribute positively to the communities around them.

A night of glamour and impact

The Mentell May Charity Ball has become an important annual fundraising event, and this year’s edition brought together style, energy and generosity in equal measure.

The Bond Thunderball theme added a sense of occasion and excitement, but the real importance of the night was the cause behind it: helping Mentell continue its mission to encourage men to talk and access support for their mental health.

We are incredibly proud to share that, together, we raised…

This total is a reflection of the generosity, effort, and encouragement shown by everyone who donated, shared, supported, and helped us along the way. Every contribution has made a difference, and we are so grateful to each person who got behind the campaign.

The money raised will help Mentell continue its vital work supporting men’s mental health through free, confidential peer-to-peer groups. It will contribute towards creating safe spaces where men can talk openly, listen without judgement, and access support when they need it most. Funding will also help Mentell reach more men, train and support facilitators, maintain group services, and continue raising awareness around men’s mental health.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated. Your support means Mentell can continue helping more men feel heard, supported, and less alone.

That support will help the charity continue delivering its essential work and reach more men who need a safe place to speak openly.

Proud to play our part

At BEAM, we believe successful businesses should be measured by more than commercial outcomes alone.

Our involvement in the Mentell May Charity Ball reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting people, communities and causes that matter.

We are incredibly proud of Amy, Kay and Alec Middleton for their involvement in this year’s event, and proud to continue backing Mentell and its important mission.

A massive thank you to everyone who helped make the evening happen — from organisers and supporters to guests, donors and everyone cheering Mentell on.

Big nights can create big impact. This one just might have done exactly that 💙
